REPRESENTATIVE RAMONA BARNES, Chair of the House Special Committee                                                              
on World Trade and State/Federal Relations, called the joint                                                                    
meeting of the House Special Committee on World Trade and                                                                       
State/Federal Relations (WTR) and the House Resources Standing                                                                  
Committee (RES) to order at 2:10 p.m.

SUMMARY OF INFORMATION                                                                                                          
                                                                                                                                
WILSON C. CONDON, Commissioner, Alaska Department of Revenue,                                                                   
provided background information on the department and discussed the                                                             
importance of oil revenues in relation to the State's finances.  He                                                             
responded to questions asked by the Sakhalin Regional Duma members.                                                             
                                                                                                                                
                                                                                                                                
JOHN T. SHIVELY, Commissioner, Alaska Department of Natural                                                                     
Resources, provided general information on oil and gas leasing.  He                                                             
responded to questions asked by the Sakhalin Regional Duma members.                                                             
                                                                                                                                
MICHELE BROWN, Commissioner, Alaska Department of Environmental                                                                 
Conservation, discussed the importance of oil spill policies with                                                               
respect to programs, prevention and response.  She responded to                                                                 
questions asked by the Sakhalin Regional Duma members.
